Start and Turn Analysis
Starts and turns can decide close races. Video analysis reveals where speed is gained or lost from the block, through the wall and into the breakout.
Start analysis
Block setup
Foot placement, hand position, balance and a repeatable ready position.
Take-off and flight
Reaction, force direction, body extension and the trajectory from the block.
Water entry
Entry angle, body alignment and how cleanly the body passes through the surface.
Streamline and breakout
Underwater position, kick timing, distance and the transition into the first stroke.
Turn analysis
Approach
Stroke timing, distance to the wall and whether speed is maintained into the turn.
Rotation or wall contact
Tuck speed, body position and stroke-specific technique at the wall.
Push-off
Foot placement, push direction, power and the time required to leave the wall.
Underwater phase
Streamline, kick timing, breakout distance and the first effective swimming stroke.
Choose your feedback format
Basic — written analysis
- One start or one turn element of your choice
- Review by a qualified swimming coach
- Written comments and corrections in a PDF report
- Two to four above-water or underwater clips
- Suitable for learners, competitive swimmers, masters and artistic swimmers
Pro — annotated video analysis
- One start or one turn element of your choice
- Coach comments and corrections displayed on your footage
- Downloadable annotated MP4 video
- Two to four above-water or underwater clips
- Visual explanation of body position, timing and power
Prepare your videos
Follow the dedicated camera-position guide before submitting your clips. Underwater footage is helpful for entry, streamline and push-off analysis but is not required for every start.
